Yes, I think we can check the status through ECas using UCI number. That's how I did.
AOR1 comes to the sponsor's email.

You'd be able to check the status through ECAS generally after a couple of days of receiving the AOR1. You can use the UCI or the application number which will also be mentioned in the AOR1.
AOR1 generally comes in email (if provided) to the sponsor.

Congratulations on your DM and PPRs
I am an October 2015 applicant, got my DM updated on 3rd may,
I also applied for TRV (temperory resident visa) last month and got its approval today,So planned to visit Canada on May 12 to see my husband. As my DM got updated I may expect my PPR anytime.

Anybody here have any idea regarding further processing of my sponsorship application from Canada? Can I send my passport to New Delhi from Canada upon PPR ? Is there any way out processing my sponsorship application being in Canada? I really can't wait more to see my husband when I have my TRV and flight reservation in hand.
Please do help me out as soon as possible. It may help others too. I'm pretty sure there must be many like me here.

Congrats on the update. If you are flying to Canada, that is not a problem at all because in the Passport Request letter, they clearly state that if you are in India, use VFS to send the passport to NDVO and if you are planning on being in Canada for 3 months or more, you can get your passport stamped in Ottawa. So don't worry, pack your bags and enjoy this time! Take care

Finally got the passport request, the letter is dated May 09, 2016 but I received the email today afternoon. Very happy and excited. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting. Also, the ECAS status still shows as "In Process". Cheers!!

Congrats Karan, so this means they do send updates it to the principal applicant as well and not just representative.

You will be able to check the status once you have received the AOR. You will receive it via email, either yours or your lawyer's depending on if you have one or not. One you have the UCI or file number, you'll be able to check the status on ECAS. Good luck!

Thanks!! No they send it only to the representative, not the applicant. When I said I got the email, I meant my rep got it.

Thank you. It wasn't me who got the email, it was my representative. He told me he got it today but I just looked at the email again and I could see that it is a forwarded message from my lawyer to his assistant and they received it yesterday morning at around 11 AM. I just found out today afternoon though. And it's PDT (Vancouver)
