Did you apply online? If you applied online you can see that there's a system update in your account. There you can see your UCI above your application. Also they added "Review of eligibility" and "Background"

Yes, " Review of eligibilty " and " Backgroud " is something new which they have added.
Looking at those two new parameters, I was in the delima that they have started processing my application. Lol !

yes from today user interface update in cic portal which was common for everybody i guess.
I too now have the uci number written at the top of the portal.
My status changed from "we recieved your application" to "we are processing your application",
new rows such as Review of eligiblity came up for which is under review,
review of additional documents also changed from we dont need any to we are reviewing the docs you provided.
bg check:not applicable.
Rest everything is same..

Hi Friends.

My visa is approved.

Applied offline, Bangalore VFS, 25th April, University Category, pre-medicals, self-apply, no consultants, no GIC !!
Medicals passed on 24th May.
Visa approval mail from cic ( linked my application to cic portal ) on 5th June. Also there was an attachment containing letter about VISA approval.
Today (7th June) collected passport.

PS : Since I linked my offline application with cic account, I never got any e-mail from vfs after initial mail saying application is being processed.
For medical pass, did not get a mail from cic.
But, when final decision was taken, I got mail from cic.

I heartily wish all to get their VISAs soon.

Same here, in Bangalore. It looks like Bangalore embassy takes a lot of time to publish the results. I applied on 18th of May and no updates yet.
How long did it take for you get your medical update ?

It took me about a month to get medical update.
When I went to collect my passport today, I saw in Bangalore VFS, that, people who applied in May 2nd week were collecting their passports.
So, you also must get your VISA soon.

Hey Thanks Navdeep.
So which embassy you applied from ? Is it Chandigarh ?
Coz, I have a friend, who had applied on 7th April and was waiting all time.
Last Friday, we talked and he decided to raise "case specific enquiry" using the web form.
Today evening he got to know his passport is dispatched.

Anyways, but you haven't linked your application yet right.
Tracking number and reference number is useful only with vfs, not cic.
For cic, you can just search your application using: last-name/surname in your application & date of birth.
Create a login in GCkey, select the option to search your application using surname and DOB. It will search and can link your application to your GCKey on cic.
Did you try this ?

Guys, one more update from my other friend.
He applied offline on 26th April - Bangalore VFS, I guess SPP category as he is going for Advanced Diploma Course of 2 years.
He got his visa approval mail yesterday evening.

Bangalore embassy is processing applications in faster rate compared to last few days.
Expect final decisions soon
