My VO is Ottawa, that is supposed to be the fastest in terms of responses and processing. My eligibility, medical and Criminality is recommended passed. But security check is taking too long now. But I'll continue the follow ups via call and through CSE.

Lots of people from Ottawa are waiting for security to start especially from June AOR. It's just a matter of time now.

How long does it normally take approx?

Everything is good with your file. Once security starts, you'll get your PPR in no time.
Btw, many people are waiting for security to start so you're not the only one. Once they decide to start,, it'll be a PPR rain for everyone.

Once your 6 months is complete raise a CSE to inquire about the status of your application. And call CIC asking them about your eligibility, criminality and security. You can also order GCMS notes to get details if you want. It takes 30 days to get to you so the earlier you order, the better.
The last option is to wait things out. like you have done these past couple of months.

Yeah I noticed that security is not started. and I am from Ottawa. I guess I applied in the wrong month. Some applicants applied after me got Passport request.

I did not submit RCMP clearance along with the application. I am not sure what security is..
I am just concerned as it is being delayed a lot. My work permit expires in Oct 2019.

I've also read somewhere that generally Jan. is a slow month for PR as there is a surge in visitor visa applications during this part of the year, so analysts tend to get occupied with them. Is that true?

It's possible but may there's no fact behind it.
CIC is just generally slower overall now than they were in 2017 and early 2018.

I am CEC applicant.
Tbh when I checked info - doc upload under gc key and official website under this link, I could not find any info about RCMP.

That's why I did not submit. Now, I am confused. Is RCMP slowing my process ? I did not get any notification from immigration to submit if it is mandatory requirement.
