Yes. they accept now a days both general and academic for SDS as well as regular.

Yes you can. IRCC accepts both General and Academic, no matter what application stream you follow. For regular application, IELTS is not mandatory but good to have.

no institute accepts IELTS General for acedemic programs but Most of them are accepting Duolingo online test, so along with IELTS General a person can go with SDS visa processing.
