Yes they don’t need to extend visas during H&C. You should try but others have also been removed during H&C process. If they are approved for H&C they are allowed to enter again.

I think its better to not extend our visa again and just be waiting for our result.

First stage approval. It seems to be taking between 1.5 years to 2 years right now. Yes - that's how long you may be waiting just to receive a refusal. And you won't be able to work while you wait.

Not sure who recommended H&C but they clearly did not explain the program or risk you were taking.

you aren’t applying for asylum. H&C isn’t a way to apply to stay in Canada for protection or to seek better opportunities. I think whoever you contacted before deciding to quit your jobs and fly to Canada as visitors did not give you an accurate picture as to how hard getting PR through H&C approval would be. They must not have given you all the information since you were unaware that you would not be able to work for 1.5-2 years at a minimum. The work permit will only be possible if you get first stage approval. I think 2 years is more likely looking at the timeframe of other cases due to the increase in cases after asylum refusals. Would add that having a Canadian child does not secure status in Canada in case someone has told you that as well. We are trying to give you a realistic picture of what kind of obstacles you are fighting against. Have you looked to see whether you qualify for PR through economic programs or through a study permit? Those would have been the best routes to seek PR.

The best positivity and energy you need now must come from you. Like you said! Only you and the Officers knows why you want to remain in Canada and God will help you achieve your dreams.

I applied for H&C last year on january by my own on best interest of a child ground.
7month later, without any AOR, I got a call from CIC to update my file and we talk for about 30mns about my application and familly. I receive AIP (Approval in principle) 1 day later.

Since the AIP I didn't ear any news from IRCC until january 2018, I received médical request and Annex A request. it's was all done by the end of january and my background still in progress.
