I came here with the 3-year work permit given after the TS2023 major earthquake in Turkey. We are a family of four—my wife, my two daughters, and me. I have a great job and earn slightly above average. My children and we have fallen in love with this country. We do not want to return.
However, it is impossible for us to extend our work permits. I have heard about this program, but I understand that it does not extend the residency process during the application phase. I have started reading all the messages here, but there are so many abbreviations that it’s hard to follow.
I would be very grateful if those who have received approval from this program could guide me. My eldest daughter has become so attached to this place that she sometimes has nightmares about us being forced to return and never being able to come back. You won’t believe it, but I have similar nightmares myself.
In the meantime, I have also participated in some volunteer work. Please guide me. God has shown me a way when we had lost all hope and I heard about this program (H&C)

So you never really had grounds to use the H&C program which IRCC should have actually assessed. Impossible to say what the outcome of an H&C program will be but there seems to be no reason you both needed to come to Canada and why you can’t return home.

My friend whose asylum application was rejected here said he would apply and said my chances were high. I wondered about my own chances. He works at the same place as me and has 2 children.

And somehow he is qualified to give immigration advice. Have you spoken to an immigration lawyer? Due to reduced quotas it is going to be quite difficult for many to get H&C. The fact that you weren’t actually affected by the earthquake does not help your case.
No, I read forums and articles. I met someone who stayed here like this 10 years ago. He said you have to prove how good a Canadian you can be. I should get hundreds of letters from Canadians around me. He talked about volunteer work, church visits, etc.

That was before Canada tightened it’s immigration policies and there wasn’t huge backlogs of H&C cases with reduced quotas. You also have to overcome that you came to Canada on an H&C program for Turkish people affected by the earthquake and you weren’t affected by the earthquake. You can certainly try but far from guaranteed.
Hello, can someone guide me on how number of months is calculated? Its says 21months for processing but 21 months from submission or 21 months from AOR? And 21 months is working days counted only or 21 months all together?
Also how can we get GCMS notes?
