my file status changed to InProcess on Oct 19th along with other 8 members in the forum. Most of them got their medical request after a week. since I have a travel history to germany(1 month) paris (2 months), I understand that it might take some time to get medical. any idea how many weeks it might take for me to get medical requests ?
i have taken passport for my kid when he was a baby and the validity is for 5 yrs. now he's 3 yrs old and the passport photo does not match. Should I wait for the instruction from the CHC ND before applying new one? I believe that the instruction from CHC to take new passports would come along with medical request. am i right?
My consultant informed that CHC would send medical request hard copy to consultant's canadian address. In that case there would be sufficient delay (postal delays) to know whether CHC has advised to take new passports for my kid. can u please advise what would be most appropriate
I suggest you apply for the child passport at the earliest possible to save some time later.
The CHC rules state that photo on a child of 6 years should be no more than 3 years old and for a child of 15 years should be no more than 6 years old. But even if photo is not 3 year old, but does not match the current photo CHC advises to get a passport with current photo as in my case.
I suggest you to wait for CHC's instructinos..... See if the dont need the new passport and you'll apply for a new one then ur kid's current passport will be canceled.... Now, they wouldn't know that you have applied for the new one as they'll have old passport no on the record.... It will create unnecessary mess..... As they say, "Don't try to fix something is not broken"
Yes it takes about 12-20 days by normal mail to reach mail to Canada from India.
