Hi, my IDP IELTS exam went very well but the score is L9/ R8/ S7/ W7.5, Im not sure if this is the best that anyone can get. quite disappointed. Any comments.
To get a good CRS combined with Masters, you just need CLB 9 which is 8777 in LRWS which you have got. Did you try calculating your CRS score with your IELTS score? You need not worry, your IELTS scores are good.

Thanks Stanlee, I did, it is coming at 449 only (the lowest draw has gone uptil 450 only). If my speaking would have been 7.5, I would have got 452.

Is there a process of re-evaluation of IDP IELTS and is it effective, has anyone seen scores increasing as my wife got very less L6/ R7/ W6/ S7.

Agree. I would leave the decision to you whether you want to take IELTS again for the 3 points. Let's assume that you reappeared for IELTS and got 3 points more, but if your birthday is around the corner, your score will drop again.

Now the question with regard to taking IELTS again, if I were you, I would look at the cost-benefit and then go for it. If you apply for another test, you will get a date somewhere 2 months down the line, and then another 2 weeks of waiting for the score and also there is no guarantee that you may get the same scores again. Additionally, there is also the cost that you would incur.

Anyway, in another few months, OINP may start sending out invites again, once they have the new quota, or may be even the scores for direct ITA would come down or other PNPs may open. The best option that I can see forward for you is PNP. So that's my thought, would leave the decision to you.

Yes, there is a process of remarking. The whole process would take 8 weeks and you will have to pay 50% of the actual test fees.

If you are planning for remarking, would suggest you to give only Speaking and Writing for remarking as the assessments of these modules are subjective. Once you have submitted your request, the test modules would be evaluated by another person (not the same person who reviewed and marked initially). If scores are revised, chances are very less, then you get the money back, otherwise you forfeit that amount.

Thanks, can I get Provincial Nomination through Express entry itself? As for maximum PNPs, I think a job in Canada is the requirement.

For reappearing or re-evaluation I was also worried about the cost factor, not able to decide what to do...

Not all PNPs require you to have a job offer. Check the link below to know more about each PNP.

That's right Stanlee, but I don't think any of those PNP's (which do not require job) are open at present for application? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any other way to increase the score apart from retaking IELTS which I don't think would be desirable for 3 additional points for me and 4 for my wife.... though not able to decide....

Re-evaluation is out of question as it costs INR 8,500 almost with nil chances of any increase...

I believe PEI and NB are open.

The only other ways to increase CRS are with more education or more work experience (assuming you haven't already maxed out).

Hello people,

Need your help/advice/suggestion.

is there a thread in this forum that someone can point me to, that will provide a step-by-step instructions of how to apply for Express Entry process(in order).
If here is no thread of that can, could someone who has in-depth understanding of the process, kindly create one and put it as sticky?

I am bit confused as to what would be the first step in applying for the EE and its corresponding steps.
Though website provide instructions to certain extent, i am not entirely convinced as i understand there is lot more required than what is mentioned on the website.

These instruction will be helpful not just to me but many aspirants who are seeking a lucid understanding of the process.

Thank you all for your time. :)

While selecting the NOC, the duties and responsibilities mentioned in the NOC should be a close match with the actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you at the respective job. You need not match the duties and responsibilities word by word, but the idea is to have the closest match in terms of the spirit of the duties and responsibilities (at least 60%-70% match).

Also, NOC should be selected on the basis of the match of actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you rather than the designation match in the NOC list. If you are not sure of your NOC, write to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca with your job title, duties and responsibilities and educational qualification, they will help you find the closest fit.

While submitting your application to CIC, you can attach the email that you receive from NOC Team along with an LOE.

Hi Stanlee,

I have received my IELTS score today and would like to tell you I am totally devastated after seeing the results. I missed CLB9 by 0.5 in writing. My score is L-8.5, R-9, W-6.5, S-7. I was pretty confident that I would crack CLB9 easily but this writing ruined everything. What's your take on this?

I am thinking to re-sit in the exam in next month after rigorous preparations as I may have a chance to crack up to CLB10. Or, I should go for re-evaluation in Speaking and Writing. One more thing, do you think handwriting may be an issue while evaluation as I got my letters and essays evaluated by professionals before the exams. I am unable to perceive what went wrong. :-X :( :( :-[

Thanks

Your score in rest of the modules are good. If you are sure that you did really well, would suggest to get Writing module remarked. There are chances that you may get a 0.5 increase. Only go for it if you are really confident. The whole process will take 8 weeks and 50% of normal test fees. If score increases, you will get your money back.

Thanks my friend.

I have to contemplate a little bit on this. The thing is I will get following scores depending on CLB levels:

CLB9-458
CLB10-464

and you know the scores are soaring higher close to 490. Therefore, I have to decide what should be my next step to at least have a chance to secure an ITA.

BTW, what about handwriting, does it have any impact?

Thanks
