do i need to do ilets? seniors plz help

my friend got admission in dalhouise university in a graduate program internetworking. he got the admission letter/offer letter from the university without doing ielts. the uni has asked him to submit his 1st semester fees to confirm his seat for the september 2012 intake. he would be forwarding his case to the embassy by the end of march 2012. now the question is does he require to do ielts? do canadian embassy will ask him to submit his ielts score?

He has to prove his English language skills..with out it the visa chances are slim.......

he has a letter from his previous university that the medium of instruction of his bachelors is english.
from some people nd from this forum i have read that ielts is not a requirement of the embassy. if you receive offer letter from the uni/college than embassy will not ask you for ielts.....is it true?

Dear i am not the authority but ..........

Some people have been waived because they studied English in O level and A level.....OR....Medium of study is English...........

but check out that the previous University is worthwhile to be exempted....

do't worry if you h'v received unconditional letter from university then no tensn about IELTS many people got visa without IELTS

im also trying to get admission in humber or george brown college or may be niagara in some marketing related course (pgd/certificate)....nd i also do not want to do ielts :d.....
suggest any college in toronto which has a good reputation in embassy or which has good chances of getting visa nd also i want to apply for PR after completing 1 yr program....do people get PR on the basis of diploma or certificate courses?

another thing what is the job scenario of marketing students?

I searched many colleges in ontario and all over CANADA but now found govt. authourized college still which is waived IELTS.
but some universities give admission without IELTS but there is no college which is no ielts requirements.

@ abu bakr,
Many public funded colleges gives admission without i.e.l.t.s. but for that you will have to enrol in ESL programe prior to the main course.

hence going without I.E.L.T.S. and with ESL visa chances are also very slim.

So in short you cant stay away from I.E.L.T.S.

I think you mean CIMT, it is a private college and yes they do sometimes give admission without IELTS but visa chances on this college may not be great. I hope senior members will guide you better, I am still in the learning process.

the fees are roundabout 12000CAD for international students....u can confirm them on there websites according to ur desired course...

i dont think cimt is a worthy college....asma u wont be able to get PR after doing a course from cimt....that wht i think

better take admission in some other college

so called visa chances no depend only IELTS its depend on you overall profile no only IELTS nd i know many people got visa without ielts and chc does not more interest in ONLY IELTS and in the required documets of CHC officiel wbsite IELTS crore card(if applicable) if IELTS is must for visa then they not mention in requirement that (IF APPLICABLE)
And tariq@ if you go in a post secondary diploma and spend a year or 2 year legaly in canada then you get PR.
