Hello all,

Our application status online has changed from "in process" to "decision made" but we haven't received an email or letter yet to tell us what the decision is! Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to hear back. Is anyone else as frustrated as we are with this whole process!??

Have you received any kind of Pre-arrival email? W

Whats your timeline and Visa Office? Common-Law or Spousal?

No emails at all yet, the status just changed yesterday (I check daily). We applied through the Common-law status, application was sent in March 22, 2016, then April 9 we got a letter asking for more proof of our common-law status, that was sent in May 2, they didn't look at it until May 9th and we've heard nothing since until yesterday when the status changed.
Seems so crazy that they just taunt you with this "decision made" but don't tell you what it is!!! We sent ours to Ottawa (is that what you mean by Visa office?) we live in Winnipeg though

Wow thats a long processing time!

What country is the Principal Applicant from (the person being sponsored)?

Visa Office is where it goes after Mississauga (where apps are required to be sent to now..dont know if it was different back in 2016) - unless it gets held in Mississauga eg. im British so mine went to London.

You can feel confident that the decision is positive if you have not heard anything otherwise. They don't reject applications without prior communication. If they are going to reject your application they will send you what's called a Procedural Fairness Letter basically giving you the opportunity to provide more evidence or correct whatever has gone wrong before they make their final decision. So if you haven't heard anything that means you are approved. Congrats :)

Hi all
We received the pre arrival email yeasterday welcoming us to canada and that's it . They didn't asked for our passports . Does this happen with anyone?

Yes. You will likely receive passport request or the next stage shortly. Many people receive pre-arrival before any official "decision made" type communication.

Sorry! I lied!! It was sent March 22, 2017... So many dates and they all get mixed up! The principal applicant is from Ireland.

Hahaha ok that makes more sense!

You never got a file transfer email saying "your app is being forwarded to xxxx to be continue processing"?
