Oh, we're way more complicated than just that! My wife is dual US and Russian (Russian police certificate was a royal pain in the butt), our kids are US, and I'm dual Canadian and American.
But actually, we don't plan to move until the summer (between school years), and we're all living together, so I'd really rather see the old Buffalo applicants who've been waiting forever, or more recent families living apart, get their PR first.

I don't think it should be more complicated. Especially since you guys have kids. I also have Russian citizenship, and I don't think it caused any delays in our case.

It's easy to be noble when you're not being inconvenienced.
It doesn't seem like the old cases are affecting new cases - I've been lurking on some of the other threads and it seems like there's currently a push to clear out the pipeline of legacy Buffalo cases (hopefully this will actually happen), but we're still seeing PPRs from Ottawa for applications with sponsorship approvals as recent as October 12, 2012.
