I'm kinda worried now, my hubby did his finger print thing in North Carolina but he didn't wait for than half n hr to get the paper it had a seal n stamp on it n he paid $30. N that's a background check. Did he send the wrong thing to immigration?
If it was wrong wouldn't they have sent me or him a letter by now? Our application was revived nov 14 2012. Sponsorship approval dec 17 n file was sent o Ottawa same day..... I'm a bit worried now

I did my original application through a channeler, but after reading on here, I went and did the original request through the FBI and sent that in after. If the place in NC is a channeler, the consensus I've gathered here is that channelers are not accepted and you will have to do the FBI at some point so why not now. Long timers agree?

I agree with crna80. Considering that Tashannon you have waited for only half a hour, most likely you have done it through a Channeler. From what I read from this forum, FBI report from a channeler might not be acceptable.
So you should get your finger print done and request to FBI directly. Here in VA, it takes about 5 weeks to get the report back.
Enough people have had FBI channeler letters rejected for PR applications that it seems clear they are not accepted - at least not for PR. I've read cases for non-PR where they are.
Get the real one. It takes ~6 weeks and costs $18 plus the fingerprints. When you get it, send it to CPP-O with your file number (a copy of the approval letter is good) and make sure you send it via some service that gets a signature. Keep a copy - it will say "unauthorized copy" on it when you do, but that's because the paper is "tamper resistant".
When I got my FBI clearance, I looked into it a lot. The FBI website said that it would take 16-18 weeks BUT I heard that if you write them a cover letter and send them a self-addressed stamped envelope they can have it done in 3 weeks. On the package that I sent them I was also told to write in big writing the date we required the fingerprints so they would basically know to process that particular package quicker. It worked. We followed instructions and received ours in 2 weeks. This was back in June 2012.
