Hi,
I came here last year Aug 17th 2013 and I start working here as a IT consultant (2174) from Aug 19th 2013 and this year I went to outside country from Jun 8th 2014- July 11th 2014 i.e 5 weeks.
I'm planning to file my CEC application next week Oct 20th - Oct 24th .
I just want to know whether I'm eligible to apply . Can any one please help me with this.
I've calculated the period and they are as follows
August 19th 2013 - June 7th 2013 -- 42 working weeks
July 14th 2014 - Oct 17th 2014 -- 14 working weeks.
Total working weeks = 56 weeks . CEC needs 12 months .
With the above mentioned working weeks . Can I apply .
I'm waiting for your reply ..
Thanks,
^Did you work for at least 30hours each week you were working?
As an IT Consultant, were you "employed" or a "contractor"?
I work 40 hrs per week and also I'm a permanent employee with the current employer who sponsored me and brought me here .

I can't see any problem . it is definitely ok , in my opinion.
Seems like you are eligible to apply.

. Have you done with IELTS? just a remember because you will not be able to submit application without sufficient IELTS score.

Yes I have done my CELPIP In the month of January .
My score
Listening = 4H
Reading = 4H
Writing = 4L
Speaking = 4L
These language requirements are sufficient for Skill A NOC 2174
Thanks for reminding though

Gurinder,
I can wait for 1 more week thanks for your advise but I've a bit concern .
Aug 1st 2013 - June 6th 2014 would be 42 working weeks i.e each week minimum 40 hrs
July 14th 2014- Oct 17th 2014 would be 14 working weeks i.e each week minimum 40 hrs
So In total I worked for 56 weeks(which includes couple of sick leaves and statutory holidays) and the requirement is 52 weeks for CEC i.e. 12 months according to my calculation I already kept 4 weeks in buffer if I'm right.
From June 8th 2014- July 11th 2014 ie. 5 weeks (Includes 3 Weeks annual leave which is paid) in these period I was away from the country. So I'm not counting these weeks.
I've got useful document from CEC : http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/cec-work-experience-counts-1-year-or-how-many-weeks-t172200.0.html
according to this document I've working weeks 56 Weeks * 40 hrs (each week) = 2240 hrs per annum by looking at the hrs I'm sure number of hours I worked are not concerned and also the number of weeks.
I'm not offending you by saying this but I couldn't find the proper reason of holding my application for 1 more week..
Any comments from any one or you would be highly appreciated.
Cheers,
