Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

April 6, 2021 - bacame Canadian Citizen
April 30, 2021 - sent app
May 18, 2021 - CC charged
May 26, 2021 - delivery notice in mail box
(2 delivery paper notice )
For passport and certificate
Have to pick up at Shoppers canada post on
May 27, 2021 - Passport and citizenship certificate on hand
In the envelope is a checklist too and receipt for credit card
I have 2 receipt for cc, one dated May 7, 2021 which is declined
Should have had my passport earlier lol
But anyway everything went well in the end

So basically Passport Program is still processing application within 7 to 10 working days (of receipt of application and charging a credit card at that point in time).

I think @Lex2019 should see some moment today or within next week. Let's wait and watch.

Yes so I was right. Congratulations and call them Monday, Tuesday for tracking.

Hey guys, came to look for passport info - was not disappointed. haha. Mine was received in Quebec on May 14 and my card was charged on May 28 (last Friday). Hope to get it soon!!!!!

Well it used to be quite fast but yeah… I guess it’s the new normal. Should have drove to Gatineau and hand deliver myself lol

Mine made it from Winnipeg to Gatineau in less than 48 hours. I sent it tracked Canada Post around $12 (priority?)... expresspost was like $48 and was the same amount of time!

Finally, I've got my passport! Below is the updated timeline:

Passport Office: Vancouver
Apps sent: 22 Apr 2021
Apps delivered: 29 Apr 2021
Call from Passport Office: 05 May 2021
CC charged: 05 May 2021
Tracking #s: 10 May 2021
Passport Sent: 07 May 2021
Passport Received: 14 May 2021
Cert Sent: 10 May 2021
Cert Received: 13 May 2021

Note about the Cit Cert. It came back very creased and I was very disappointed. I recommend sending it with a cardboard folder or plastic protector and request the Passport Program officer to return it to you with the folder/protector so that it comes back still presentable. I was extremely dismayed when the mailman bent the envelope containing the cert to my smallish mailbox. I wish there was a stamp or mark on the envelope that said "important document, do not fold, bend or crumple..."

I sent mine in a page protector.... hope it doesn't come back looking like it went through the wringer.

I sent via xpresspost which was 12$ from the GTA to Gatineau, and it took a week to arrive - sent on the 18th and only arrived on the 25th... I guess I need to wait for at least another week for them to process...

I panicked when I saw that mine was showing delivered in Ottawa..then I realized... Gatineau is over the bridge and a whole bunch of other weird reasons. lol But, so weird...maybe the GTA post office is just slower.. who knows... nothing CP does makes any sense to me.

I specifically dropped mine off before the cut-off time, and it only made to Mississauga 2 days after I dropped it off, on the 20th it showed "Item in transit" - no updates until 25th morning - "Out for Delivery"... It was incredibly slow given its just a 5-hour drive......

Ugh.

Hotel quarantine may not continue beyond the current June 22 or whatever it is, if the Liberals take into consideration the guidelines the committee they hired has set. *crossing fingers*

Since yours is already charged, I would say you may get it by this week even!

I'm hoping to hear something by the end of this week/next week.
