Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Just curious if we get the passport in our mail box or do we need to go to canada post to get it?

I renewed my old passport way back 2017 and i have to get it to the canada post office
Wondering if its the same thing with Canadian passport
But had ask someone and said in my mail box

Why is the certificate not sent together with the passport?

So that they don't both get affected if anything unfortunate were to happen during transit e.g documents getting lost or damaged.

Talking about this… I sent my applications away yesterday afternoon and the status remained at “item accepted at post office” and there has been no movement ever since..

I received notice to pick up mine from the post office. They will ask you to sign indicating that you have received it (it was an electronic signature pad).

Talking about this… I sent my applications away yesterday afternoon and the status remained at “item accepted at post office” and there has been no movement ever since..

You also thought that when they tell you that it is a 2-day delivery they mean it? 4-5 days is the new normal. They'll get them to Ottawa early next week

Well it used to be quite fast but yeah… I guess it’s the new normal. Should have drove to Gatineau and hand deliver myself lol

You are completely correct... Status was updated this morning in Mississauga and will arrive on Monday.... Should have used UPS.

April 30, 2021 - passport application send @ 22 de Varennes St. Gatineau QC
May 14, 2021 - unknown call (i was unable to answer)
With my instinct I called passport canada @ 1-800-567-6868
The agent said my GUARANTOR was not answering their call
(So i suggest to remind our guarantor for an unknown call)
My guarantor has to call back after 2 days
May 17, 2021 - GUARANTOR called passport canada (informed me they ask her a lot of questions lol)
Guarantor was my aunt and she said she has known me since i was born but i wrote in the app i known her only for 8 years (counting from the day I arrived in Canada)
May 18, 2021 - unknown call this time i was able to answer
(My visa card decline)
Have to provide 3 visa c.card(thank God 3rd one is ok)
$160.00 Canadian taken from my cc

Passport receive - waiting
Certificate receive - waiting
Update the group when on hand
I suggest to provide a guarantor/reference who will be able to pick up a call bet. 8am-4pm its important

I called my reference and guarantor that they might expect a call....anyways...application was delivered yesterday morning 10ish....I think I'd see a credit cars charge sometime next week..

Nothing to date. A bit early, I believe. I'll probably give them a buzz mid next week unless my card's been charged earlier.

Was expecting it this week but because my Guarantor wasnt able to answer the call last week, im guessing it would be end of the month now
Yes its a good idea to give them a heads up/ reminder specially if they're working like mine

Yes. Let's see. Are you planning to call them Middle of next week to obtain tracking number? I believe one can obtain a tracking number for the passport and certificate being sent out via mail.

Nah, i will just wait lol
Tho im excited to have the canadian passport on hand
And besides cant really go out of the country now
Just have to apply in case of emergency

For a new passport application, do we need to wait for citizenship certificate after attending the ceremony on Tuesday?

The pinned post states that you can techinically send the application the next business day to the oath which didn't make sense as one of the requirement is to send the original certificate!

New ECAS shows in progress still which could be due to a new address requested to send the certificate to.
