Called them yesterday, the guy told me my file was opened and that's all.
I think it depends on the agent or processing office that handles your application..

Yes they told me that different offices process differently. Some charge the credit card at the start of the processing, and some are charging the fee at the very end.
Yeah I called and they said it was approved but that’s it. They also said they don’t send confirmation that anything has been sent for privacy reasons so I’ll just have to keep calling.

note if I hadn’t called To get a tracking number I wouldn’t have known I got the passport to pick up at Canada Post, since they never left a notice at my door or in mailbox (tracking details say they did).
That means you they have opened your application in the system and you can start your wait, expecting another correspondence about your passport tracking status.

Hello. I sent the passport documents to Gatineau ( Passport Program, Gatineau, QC K1A 0G3 ) via xpresspost, but they were delivered to Ottawa, is that normal?
