I think the wait is for paper certificate, in case the clerk has not finalized the application the service canada won't be able to verify the certificate. For e-certificate, by the time you get it it's already in the system.

Hi, I am filling in the canada passport form (pptc153) in advance, mostly I am going to apply for canada passport next month after my oath. There are few things would like to double check if someone could help.

1. Parent’s surname at birth : Instruction states we can put any one of our parents surname. Let’s say I mention my father’s surname then do I need to specify somewhere that it belongs to whom like father or mother ?
2. Occupation in the last 2 years : There is a section to fill occupation in last 2 years. I have been working for same organization since last 9ish years. Let’s say I will be applying passport march 2024 ; then last 2 years be counted from 2022 march to 2024 march Or I should give the from date (yyyy-mm) as my actual start date in organization which is 9ish years back ?

1. If you don't see a place to enter that information, then you don't enter that information. No need to complicate things.
2. You put the actual start date. Yes, it will cover a longer period than required.

It'll be 10 business days come Monday and status still says "processing" and I applied at a Passport Office Service Canada branch. Does that mean I'll get 25% fee back?

I applied on Feb 19th for express pick up, still its showing as processing

If I am not wrong, express pick is 2-9 business days, hopefully you will receive before this Friday (March 1st).

you should check with your guarantor or references whether or not they received the verification call and did they answer the call

I too applied same date in service canada. In processing status.

Hello I have two questions.

• Can the passport form only be signed and dated after you receive the e certificate. It took about 4 days before mine was available
• Is it a problem if the guarantor dates the application before mine. For example the put the date as 22nd and I put mine as 26
