I am a spouse of an closed work permit holder. I have been living in Canada for 3 years as an open work permit holder. Recently, when applied to extend our work permits, there is a section on my application: Do you intend to work in childcare or healthcare, I answered: No.
Then, I received new open work permit. On my open work permit, there’s no restrictions.
I now want to work as an elderly caregiver (part time). I wonder if I can work or not, as when I submitted my open work permit application, I said no. But my work permit does not writes any restrictions. It confuses me a lot.
On the IMM 5710 form, for 1 a), under “Details of intended work in Canada,” select “Other.”
Also on the IMM 5710 form, for 1 b), under “Other,” write that you need the conditions removed (not authorized to work in childcare, primary/secondary school teachings, health service field occupations).

Thank you so much! My main point here is, even I declared that I don’t have the intend to work in those areas, but they gave me open work permit without any restrictions.
Does it mean I can work any where or for any jobs, as there is no restrictions (including healthcare areas).
Til now, I have applied for several open work permits, all of my applications I declared NO, but all of the work permits IRCC gave me are without any restrictions on it.

I only did a medical in 2019 for the first open work permit when I came to Canada (and in the application, I also said NO for the question regarding the intention to work in healthcare related areas).
Does it finally mean: They don’t need any other medical exams because I said No for that question. And even I said No, if they gave me open work permit without any restrictions, I can work for healthcare areas if I want?

I don’t know. I only have one time medical check in 2019 for the first work permit before coming to Canada. Since then, I have not had any other exams for the last few open work permit extensions. All extensions I answered No for that question (do you intend to work in childcare or healthcare).
