Thanks I applied on 21st June and got approved on 20th July. well i m worried may be my agent (since he is doing my PR application) has filled in open work permit section province and city. If he has mentioned this does that mean i ll get province specific Open Work permit or BWOP is standard one which is open for FSW

Then it might be restricted to the same employer. But there is nothing to worry about... If you get the restricted one still you already have applied for you PR and to back up you application you need(you should in my opinion) to stick with the same employer until you get atleast PPR..

Why are you worried? do you wanna switch the job?

Types of Open WP

Open work permits may be issued with occupational restrictions, depending on the applicant’s medical status [R185(b)], or with location restrictions, depending on the category (e.g., bridging open work permit under the provincial nominee class).

For a BOWP issued to FSWC, FSTC, CEC or caregiver classes applicants, there are no restrictions to employment location; therefore the Province of destination value must be set to “UNK” first, and then the City of destination value of “Unknown” can be selected as follows:

Province of destination: UNK
City of destination: Unknown

You just need the AOR applying for the BOWP.
apart from that there are certain eligibility criteria for BOWP.

Did you get LMIA after receiving your Work Permit(which is due to expire)?

no I did not. When I was issued my work permit, it was not a requirement for either PR under CEC nor for employers to employ us. I am still employed with the same company.
Does it mean I can't extend my work permit?

Lmia is not criteria. Criteria is that ur existing wp is expiring in 4 months or less and PR application is in process and u have received aor and ur r10 is cleared.

I was thinking of applying for BOWP so that i can get a open workpermit. Is it possible for me to get open work permit. for how long a open work permit is valid.

Received approval email on 19 jul and got in mail on 20 jul.

Yes I m pnp (oinp) applicant.
