At times, when there is recommended passed they already initiate your security, however, it all depends on the visa officer. May be your one is already out of office due to holidays. Just be patient and you'll surely hear something by first/second week of January!
Well, I doubt this assertion because my eligibility is showing as completed in the tracker, and when I called the next day to check, my security check had not started until then..... I am unsure whether its by default that the security check starts right after eligibility is passed or some other way. IRCC has its own way of doing things

Just received 2 GUs in my GCkey for my BOWP/SOWP applications. The document number is showing with an expiry date. I suppose this is the approval for these applications. No other updates for the PR application.

I applied for BOWP with AOR on Dec and I received a letter telling I can continue my work for 6 months (till June,2025). Now I am seeing here in the posts about BOWP approval.
Can someone explain what to expect in BOWP process. Will I receive a new work permit and for how long will it be valid? How many months I wait ?

The next update you'll receive is the biometric validation letter followed by either refusal or approval! BOWP are either given for 1 year, 2 years or passport validity. They gave me for a year. Currently, waiting on eCoPR.

Completely depends when your file gets picked up. Mine was picked up around the 4 month mark. However, you could expect some updates when it's nearing to 4-5 months.
Anyone still stuck with security check ?….don't know what these guys are doing ……why it’s taking so much time to start security check ….its really weird how this system works

They gave us for 1 year and the other one till June because of passport expiry which is the same expiry date for my eCoPR. Their plan is to land us before that expiry date which kind of makes sense. Still waiting on eCoPR! It's a major pain in the rear!
