I had a similar GU recently so I called them with the expectationthat my BG is almost done. Then they told me that GU was just my criminality that expired and passed again
Hi all! My citizenship journey has finally come to an end after 17 months. I was honestly thinking it will never end, and there isn’t a thing I tried to make it faster, without any progress. I applied originally on July 3rd 2023 with my minor son, but it got returned for missing document for my son and we reapplied on August 2nd 2023. Background was done on September 26 2023 and I did citizenship test on October 17th 2023. Had no movements whatsoever till October 2024 when my physical presence was finally completed. I applied almost monthly for ATIP notes, and found out I was in all sorts of triage and CMB section. Contacted 2 MP-s during this period and they weren’t helpful at all, just repeated the same stuff I found out from tracker. Was thinking of filling Mandamus, but it is expensive! My background was redone in September this year again as it expired and was called for an interview at the end of November. After that, finally my language and prohibitions got completed and was called for Oath in a few days. I had my Oath finally! It took 17 months all together and this forum has helped me a lot. For my husband it took only 5 months to get it all done unlike for my son and me. It is very broken system and it can be unfair definitely. I wish everyone best of luck and don’t give up, it takes a lot of patience to endure this!! Your day is coming too! Best of luck to all!!

Many congratulations @Sunshinestate that's awesome to know. Definitely turns our hopes on that there is a light after a long dark waiting tunnel of xx months. May I know what were the questions asked in interview ?

Thank you so much! Interview was fast, maybe took only 10 minutes, and it was just to test my knowledge of English, even though I provided them with CELPIP and had high scores on it. After that, Oath went to in progress in 4 days and Oath was scheduled for 6 days. Incredible how long it took altogether. Your day is coming too, just don’t give up!! I was so stressed and frustrated for waiting so long knowing that my husband waited for only 5 months. I had around 13 GCMS notes, lol. I think I got on their nerves badly, so in the end they just wanted to get rid of me!
