Hi everyone, two questions:
1- Are there still photo studios open in Toronto that take citizenship photos?
2- Is there a problem if I didn't file taxes for 2019? I suppose not but just making sure if it has an impact.
The website says "you must have filed income taxes for any three taxation years that are fully or partially within the five years before you apply"
Is this period "2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019" or "2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020"?
Correct. Half of Jan-2020 folks are still waiting in April-2020 for AOR. Without COVID, it used to be 60 days to receive AOR from the time they received the package. Its safe to assume that time to receive AOR for April-2020 would be more than 120 days/4 months. We would be lucky if we hear something in 120 days.

True!
Problem is not just a covid-19 delays they have increased numbers of delays since last few years, IRCC office in Sydney, NS still have a same number of staff working as it was 5 years ago. Increased numbers of applicants didnt increase the capacity of the system. Even applying for renew of PR cards applications take super long means like no prioroties in their work. I know some people who were applicants of citizenship 5 years ago they received their AOR within a week of application delivered to the office and started processing and in most cases they were able to take their oath within 6 months of application. Anyways times are different nowadays but IRCC still supposed to keep up with increased numbers otherwise more poeple are going to be left behind without travel documents such as PR card and passport.
Hi, I was planning to send out my application this week. So I called this place at the Passport Office (Service Canada building) in Scarborough, ON to get my photos taken today. The lady there said they were closed and suggested that I wait out till May 15 because photos with the current date might cause an issue with the officials as we have been asked to stay put. It does make sense considering photo centres are not essential services. Any thoughts?
IRCC is still accepting new citizenship applications. They will expect the complete application package which includes photos with the required specifications. I dont think it's going to matter when (before or after covid-19 lockdown, as long as within 6 months of signing application), where or how photos were taken. Just my thoughts.
