It should come a few days or week later.
My husband received medical request on May 14 and I got the SA approval on May 18.

Our application was received April 12, 2018. Just yesterday, I noticed status change to "in process". Aside from that, nothing yet. Sure hoping for some updates this week...

Got my medical request yesterday (Friday). Hoping to complete it early next week. Does anyone know if the medical is reviewed before the spouse is approved? Or does it all get sent to the VO for review and approval?

Medical and sponsor's approval goes along parallel in most cases. SA has to bee approved in Canada because IRCC has to verify the Canadian sponsor's eligibility that he/she is eligible to sponsor or not.

Application should be linked after AOR. Because until you received AOR; there is no official proof that IRCC has started to process your application or not. Based on current processing timeline, you might receive your AOR in last week of May or first week of June. Once you receive AOR, you can easily link your application. Good luck.
