It is very strange that they say that an officer will be assigned in the future, did they just not anything with the application for more than 6 months. Also other people are getting PPRs, so it does not make sense at all.

BG has been in progress from October 13, 2015. But the reply from MP stated that BG has not started. It is very strange to me too. And nobody knows what happened.

Guys I feel so frustrated.last week when we spoke to an agent they had said that something positive has been done to your application.Then when we called in the morning they said that they had sent some additional document request on 21 Jan when we did not receive anything.Then they called me but unfortunately i missed the call.Then I called back and the agent old me that the background check has been cleared and the correspondence they had sent on 21st Jan could have been an approval mail but they annot say anything for certain.Now they have placed a request to order the letter again and I am waiting.
Yes, I did. The cic agent said that my background is in progress. However, I do not think he has seen more information than the officer my MP contacted to.
Contacted Local Visa Office as six months had already passed. The replied that my file is in queue and has not been reviewed yet and I just need to wait.
friends i just wonder what comes in security as per agent everything else is cleared but security is under process. Do this have any relation with travel or residing in many countries?
Its really messed up, not sure if its the new government who has changed the priorities or something else. But whatever it is, the wait just sucks. The most annoying this is the applicants who applied much later, some of them have got PPR. Its a good thing, but hey, what about the first come first serve rule?

Yes, In security they will check all aspects of your background, any affiliation with political organization, history of inciting violence. Pretty much everything. But the regular stuff, nothing much that you can do. Governments have their agreements through which they share data, so most likely they will be running all the checks.

I am aware of that. The files are processed in batches irrespective of when they were filed. It depends from case to case basis and what priority CIC has. But it doesn't hurt to be sarcastic while waiting!!

I got my passport Delivered today with COPR.
I sent my passport On March 1st and they received on March 2nd.
Hoping to cross the border on Good Friday.
