How long before you get an email notifying you that your CIC account has been updated? Trying to find out if there is a delay or you get an email right away when there is a changed.

it may be immediate, it may take 24 hours, or it may never arrive.
with the CIC system honestly you never know what may happen...

I have submitted and received AOR on 17/01/2017 and my medical status changed to Passed on 20/02/2017. On the same day, my BG status also changed from NN -> NS. Until now, the status remains the same.

Keep calm, someone in the whasapp group with AOR 11 Jan just got his.BG change from NS to IP (Paris VO). I am sure you will have an update very soon
Ne t'inquiète pas..quelqu'un (un Français).du groupe WhatsApp avec AOR 11 Jan vient de voir son BG passer a «en.cours». Tu devrais recevoir une mise a jour incessamment.

It's a bit weird though. My account shows no further updates and the PPR request mail was sent to a former representative we used for another visa. I just woke up and saw the mail was forwarded to me. He had nohing to do with our PR applucation.
