Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

I think if you hold a us visa this will facilitate to obtain a canadian visitor visa and you upload few documents via the new portal.

Having a US Visa or a travel history to US in last 10 years makes you eligible for CAN+ processing.

Hi, i applied regular trv for my mom 1st app june1,2021; bio june 9,2021; 2nd app nov27,2021; bvl and med request dec10,2021. She is 62 yrs old..

Did you apply for parents/Grand parents Super visa? or just regular visitor visa (<6 months)? I heard medicals are not required for short visits (<6 months)

Hi Experts,
I have applied visitor visa for my parents using the gc key portal in Nov, 2021. The just completed biometric yesterday. Now i got to know that there is a new portal for visitor visa. What should i do now? Is ircc not processing application from the gc key portal? Also is there any way i can move the application to new portal without doing everything again from beginner again? Please help....

IRCC process from old portal as well..dont worry..people from that portal also get decision..

Applied Parents' visitor visa on 14th Oct and Biometrics completed on 22nd Nov. Biometrics updated in IRCC portal on the same day. No Updates yet.
Has anyone received PPR request for application submitted on or after 14th Oct?
Is Medicals required for Applicants aged 60+?
Does the processing time starts after application submission or biometrics?

yes even IRCC website says that processing times are only counted after biometrics

My timeline is very similar to yours.

Applied through GC Key for my parents in India.
Application submitted 14th Oct
Biometrics given and updated : 24th Nov

No updates so far.

Same with me, I applied on 6th October. No response from them even after raising a couple of web forms didn't help.
No Idea why it's taking so long for them to process and all we can do is sit and wait and there is no way for us to reach out to them. very frustrating and sad.

This is on my old application 6 months ago, just noticed it this morning. No messages there yet - still mention profile/Application updated

Final decision - December 23, 2021:Your application was withdrawn. Check your messages below for details.

Is that a good sign for the new application on the new portal? I hope I do not need to wait forever again?

Just saw someone who applied in Oct but gave biometrics on Dec 9 , getting approval - what is wrong with older applications and why are these applications getting picked sooner?

Got Approved today

Thank you very much for your prompt response. Last couple of question.
1. Could you please check what does application Status show when you open the application. Mine shows as "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."
2. Did he get an email today that there are changes in your application, the standard email from cic?

1. His also is showing "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you" now.
2. He received two emails saying "We sent you a message about your application..." from IRCC on Dec 21. He logged into the portal it showed one message was PPR, the other was BVL.
