Visit Visa Application (Using the new IRCC Portal)

If I reapply at the new portal and the application is for the immediate family member, will it be processed quicker? Will the processing time start from the beginning or will IRCC count the previous submission date?

My parents applied for Visitor Visa from India, here's their timeline:

June 9th - Submission of online application & confirmation
June 10th - Request for biometrics
September 24th - Biometrics completed (a bit late due to offices being closed in India)

The application is still in progress for both of them, do we need to submit a web form to know what's going on?

They do have visitor visa which is valid till aug 2023. My question can they come to canada on visitor visa while their new applications are under process? Please advise

Yes, they can visit you in Canada, as long as they have valid visa!

Thank you for response. I am confuse i adked some consultants they said if they come on visitor visa then they get approval for new applications, how could they will get stamp done on passports.Please advise

Hello all, I applied for my mothers visitor visa on Dec 16, 2020 as her paspport for expiring in feb 2021 but due to covid wasn't able to have her biometrics complete unit august 01,2021. But did not hear back and ask consultant to apply and she applied on the old portal on Oct 26,2021. Still didn't hear back.. Should I apply again on new portal?? Any suggestions?
