Well, DM can still be a long wait. Pre-arrival unfortunately isn't a very big deal...

Isn't pre-arrival a big sign that the application is going to be approved? Doesn't it indicate that the eligibility has been passed?

Dear Friends, Please advise me on this case:

1. I have applied for Spouse Sponsorship in Jan/2019. My wife has received Medical Request and Passed in March 2019. Since that time we did not hear back any thing.
2. I have requested GCEM and got it last week, here are main points:
1. Sponsor and Sponsored were approved in March 2019.
2. GCEM says that Biometric was requested via letter in March 2019, but we did not get...even in the GCEM, they said; No copy is available.
3. The file was transferred to London Visa Office in March 2019...we did not hear back since then.
4. It is mentioned in the GCEM that Sponsor is living outside Canada and it is VO to determine his intention to return back to Canada.

My inquires:
1. What shall I do regarding Biometric Letter, GCEM, says was sent, but I did not get it. On my Ecas, also, not requested...
2. How can I overcome that the sponsor is living outside Canada? Any advice??
3. It is now 9 months, without update...Shall I contact the VO London?

Does anyone know now days if the applicant living in Qatar where he or she should send his or her passport . It use to go to Abu Dhabi in the past .. is it still the same ?

May I ask if your background check started from Oct 2017 or your file received by CIC from Oct 2017? just wanted to know how long your security check lasts till now

u applied in jan so its probably been 7 months for u n jst email cic n inquire abt biometrics request n that u never got it sometimes they send it to PAs mail by courrier where is ur PA from n living in which country? rest looks normal for u n if sponsor is living outside canada u need to send them any proof that shoes thier ties back to canada like a job offer or letter from college or uni if they r enrolled in school or any assest or property they own or if they have familyn relatives in canada get letter of support from them

My timeline is:

AOR1 Received- 17 January
Biometric Done- 25 February
Medical Passed- 11 March

My background check started in January as well.

AOR2 Received- 4 July LVO
Prearrival service- 16 August
Passport Request- 23 August
