Yes, barcode page after the checklist. Not sure if the receipt is before the form, though. Just follow the how it's listed on the checklist.
thanks! hey does it matter if the date on the form isnt current (but printed and signed within the month)?

say for example the application was printed and signed june 12 and submitted june 19, is that okay?

Hi.. I have filed for my spouse PR and OWP last week. She came to canada on a visit visa and we got married here in Ontario. We didnt have an elaborate wedding, just a couple of ceremony attended by immediate family. Being a visitot in Canada, I cant apply for her Drivers License, or any other government issued ID.

My concern is that, at this point, I dont have much to provide in terms or documents and pictures to support my case. Does CIC call you for an interview before rejecting an inland spousal application?

Every inland visitor applicant is in the same situation.

Some things you can do:

  • Make her a beneficiary of your insurance
  • Give her supplementary cards to your bank accounts
  • Add her to property titles if you own any property
  • At least in Alberta, visitors can get Alberta Healthcare coverage based on being married to a citizen or PR so do that and send in that documentation (if possible in Ontario)
  • Add her to a family phone plan
  • Put her name on any utility bills you can (you can't make it into actual joint bills, but for Epcor I believe, we managed to put both our names in the address field so the bills are addressed to us both at our address)
Basically, think outside the box. Anywhere that you can put her name and declare her as your spouse, do it. No matter how silly it may seem.

We did all of the above and we additionally sent in any official looking mail I (principal applicant) received at our home address. For example, when I received my healthcare card, my supplementary credit card from the bank, stuff like that. I scanned those letters addressed to me and sent them in as well.

On a separate sheet you can explain that you couldn't do some of the more usual things because she's a visitor, but obviously you did as much as you could (e.g. couldn't open a joint bank account, but added her as a supplementary user on your account instead, etc).

Hi folks,

Just looking for a little guidance: got married to my lovely wife in August 2017, and we submitted our application in May (received May 15th). Three questions that I'd love some help with:
  1. Is it possible to link accounts before receiving the AOR? I have tried over and over and it never seems to work.
  2. I applied for an OWP - I paid fees of $255 (100 for the OWP fee, and 155 for the WP fee) - was that correct, or did I need to pay more? If incorrect, do I have to resend all of my documents (including police certificates and the like)?
  3. Having applied to the OWP, I found out that I was accepted for my PhD (currently here doing my Master's) and now I have to extend my study permit. Anyone know if there may be any issues with that?
Thanks in advance for your help - this forum has been a great resource!

Hello,
I have found this forum and all of you very helpful.

Quick question... regarding OWP, there is a restricted OWP and unrestricted OWP, from what I understand.
I am a March 2018 principal applicant and we applied for spousal sponsorship and OWP. I haven't been approved for an OWP yet.
My current professional role and job interests include clinical research and dealing with sick patients that are in clinical trials.
I would like to not have a restricted OWP (restricted OWPs state that one is not allowed to be in health related fields) so that I can apply to clinical research jobs. However, I haven't been asked for a medical exam. By having a medical exam approved, I would be able to have an unrestricted OWP and be able to look for clinical research jobs.
Please let me know if anyone has received an OWP without restrictions and if a medical exam was requested for this type of permit.
Do you think it's advisable to contact CIC and ask if I should get a medical exam for an unrestricted OWP even though they haven't asked me for one yet?

Thank you in advance for any responses!

Hi, unfortunately, you would need to have the upfront medical exam done prior to the submission of your OWP but there were lucky ones who were able to get an OWP without restrictions. If ever your OWP has restrictions, you can do an upfront medical exam and flagpole to the nearest border. In my case, I also needed an unrestricted OWP but have decided to wait for the medical exam than do an upfront one. I just finished my medical exam last Friday and we are planning to flagpole next month once I see a PASS on my medical exam.
