ON IMM 0008 question "how many family members are included in this application" i answered '1' because it only me principal applicant on the app is this correct?
Do you have a reference for this? Because usually the implied status implies that you renew the status that you currently have, In case someone was in visitor status when applied for OWP and PR, this is not the case.
Not necessarily. Implied status is for all temporary residents who applied for a new permit prior to the expiry of their current permit. Search Implied Status on the CIC website. It even tells you that you may apply for a different permit however, you cannot apply the same conditions of your previous permit when on implied status.

I dont know what your basing ur info on when u say "usually". To be honest i have never heard or read anything of this sort. Implied status is to get an "authorized stay". So that you are not over staying illegally.
One has the option to change the conditions of the stay and still have implied status. For example you can change ur status from student to worker and still have implied status. There is nothing directly stated that i have read or bother to spend time trying ti find right now but im sharing a link at the bottom that captures the gist of what im saying. In the link cic clearly mentions that if you are changing the conditions of ur stay u still have implied status but you will have to follow some guidlines set by cic. For example if you are changing ur status from study to worker, u can not keep studying once ur status as a student expires. However if one was extending the current study permit then they can continue studying even if there permit expires. The distinction is on the basis of change in conditions and not on weather one has an implied status or not.
Hey can anyone guide me how to go about getting my visit visa now that i have gotten my OWP approval. Im wondering, since my status had expired on 31st march, do i apply for visitor visa extension or apply for a new visitor visa? Since my visitor visa has expired i cant extend it can i? I think i should be applying for a new visitor visa..any thoughts?

If you want to leave country, you have to apply for Temporary Resident Visa. Because with working permit, you can't not leave the country. If you are not going out of Canada, you will be good now.

I remember finding a good link about this because I was in the same situation. I couldn't find that link, but I'm pretty sure once OWP application is linked (which means it's received, not returned for any reason and it's being processed) visitors have implied status too because technically they're applying to "extend" their temporary resident status and for all cases of that, you have implied status while your application of extension is being processed. It's not just for renewing whatever status you had before.

"Implied status
If a visitor, student or foreign worker applies to extend their status, before that status expires, they can legally remain in Canada until a decision is made on the application. In this situation, the person has implied status. "
Only extensions give implied status. There is not a word about changing the status.

Status is the term used for "authorized stay". U can extend your authorized stay either on the same permit or another
Even if you dont agree with that think about this: anyone who hasnt been on work permit and is applying for OWP should be oit of status if their current permit expires..same was my case. I was not on work permit but a study permit and i applied for work permit and my status ran out during the processing time. Was i illegal? If i was why would i get owp approved? Baharm above has mentionee being in the same situation.

can somebody please help me. my apllication was returned because " insufficient processing fees were provided with your application"
i put in app the 1040cad receipt for PR app... and 100cad receipt for open working permit holder fee. what i am missing? what i need to pay ?
thank you
QUOTE="nb808, post: 6992737, member: 740626"]This happens to way more people than it should. You need to pay $255. You can go online and pay the extra $155 right away and then return the application. Unfortunately, this will put you back at the bottom of the pile of applications [/QUOTE]
do i need to pay again 1040cad fir pr and 100cad for opw holder fee? or its just enough 155cad for workin permit receipt what i was missing at the first time i send the application? thanks
Exactly what I wanted to say! There are so many people on this forum (here and the 2017 applicants) in the same situation who shouldn't have got their owp approved if they didn't have implied status

I was on a study permit, too, and applied to extend my status as a worker. I also want to add that I lost that implied status and applied for Restoration together with my OWP. Both were approved in March.
