Good morning! My application has been approved and my landing date is scheduled for August 29th in Halifax. In the PDF I received, they said an additional payment of $490 is due for the Right of Permanent Residence. Is this fee included in my original application fee of $1040? Or is this a brand new fee I need to pay?
Gckey hasn't been correct or on point in awhile. You go off what ECAS says as it's been much more accurate. As for diplomatic answers, there's that then there's not knowing anything and majority of them are useless.
It's just a generic email they send out. You're good to go and even if, at some locations they allow you to pay there as well if that was the case but it's all over. Happy for you! As @profiler said, take the receipt in just in case
I am surprised that they included the threat to cancel... in any case, you should bring the receipt. Usually that's a requirement of the landing interview. But your rep should also have handled that for you.
In any case, the most important part, is to plan that landing party!

Woot woot! Yeah! Party. Hubby and I are heading to halifax the night before the interview since its a 4 hour drive away, and we'll celebrate with a nice meal and hotel room to wake up rested and ready for the landing!
Yep, looked at my receipt and it totals 1040$. Just wasn't clear if that included the right of permanent residence fee or not. Yay!

The only time I have ever been in Halifax was in a car as we drove through it... it's on my list, though.
My advise for landing: don't stress about it, at all. And, for the love of god, don't laugh when they ask the questions you already know they will ask. They call it an "interview" -- but it's like getting your DL, or visiting a bank teller. You're not sequestered. It's very informal, and anti-climatic.
That's what i dont understand. I did provide an email and i did ask to send via email. 99.99 percent sure i did. So i have no idea what got twisted. :-(
