Those who applied before 7 Dec, 2016 will take 17months. previ it was 12months so they increases the timeframe 5months. This means will take time. Mine is in month of nearly 18. Sis and bro Lets pray for all of us.

it was always 17 months since 2015 it was never 12 months - and because we are afghan u hve to look at timeline for afghanistan which is 22 months - we dont get treated like indian files - even though our office is new delhi file is treated differently. Also its taking more than 22 months for afghans becuase i know many ppl waiting since 2014-2015

The location (country) when you select to show the processing time is meant the visa office only. It doesnt mean where the applicant is from.

nope the question says where are u applying from - ur not applying from new delhi - we afghans are applyinh from afghanistan but since no vo its transfered to new delhi - otherwise why would there be afghanistan listed in the countries. Plus this processing time is also noted in GCM notes if u have orderdd them.


- and yes it says working to complete applications recieved dbefore dec 2016 - but if u click on the ? it says 80% cases - some can pass normal processing time. to be honest i doubt we will be done this yr

My mp said that because we are afghans coming from Afghanistan our applications will take long just because of the risks that comes with it like terrorism, it sucks but if you truly think about it they have the best interest for us Canadians.
So let's be patient and just pray because I have been waiting since 2014, and decision made since June and still waiting.

In this case f an afghan or anyone els applies from inside canada then why the processing time is 26months in case f it is based on what you say. I dont think so it is 21month. But i am disagree with you. Lets pray to get your visa also. I say it is 17months.

As i said earlier it is risked based process so the MP is also right. Afghanistan is in high risk category i blv which requires enhance due deligence by the visa office.

To end, they increased the timeframe to maximum i think so many ppl bother them by sending so many enquiries and involving MPs so bakhair case hayemaa before dec 2017 will be finalized.

I do agree that Inshallah that cases of 2016 and the rest will be finalized before end of December 2017. let's be hopeful. I know the waiting time is hard as I am in the same boat.

yes we all applied from inside canada however the person you are sponsoring where are they citizen of? india or afghanistan?? the processing time is dependant on the spouse - mine is from afghanistan he doesnt evrn live there right now but becuz hes citizen of their the file is treated as afghan. lol theres no argument on that i wish it was 17 months ... i wish i was approved but its not the case - i know how ur feeling cuz i was in ur shoes wen i 1st started my process however with time i relized dverything is a lie no mp no enquiry nothing can help security check no one can do nything

Inside canada i think it mean both the wife and the husband shall be in canada. But i believe our cases are all from outside canada. My wife is a citizen of Canada and i dont live even in afghanistan nor in india but the visa office is via new delhi. Lets pray and hope for the best.


Checking is really taugh i cant take it. Its been above 8months now since i am stuck in background check. How about you ?

As soon as receives response from visa office, around 10days worked for me.
