So everyone rushes to submit stuff in 1 or 2 days and that's really useless. If you submit in 30 days its pretty much the same as per my understanding here

Well no. It will take 30 days just to attach it. So if you submit in the second day, it's 32 days. If you submit in the 28th day, it's 58 days, for example.

Then there is more time to wait for the requesting officer to pick up the file again.

Hi Sam, Bill c-6 received the royal assent, so it is a law now, but not everything becomes a law right away:

So for those being here for at least 2 years before PR, they can apply for citizenship 2 years after PR! (3 years out of 5, each day prior to PR = half a day, max a year can count prior to PR).

It states those come into force in fall 2017. Note the bolded title above the table.

So from the link it seems that the time benefit will come into effect in Fall only.

In practice, it doesn't effect you. It will be there when you apply for citizenship WRT now or fall... It's retroactive.

I work with a Frenchie who got screwed by the changes just undone. He got his PR just after the Cons switched the law around. It used to be lower timeframes etc.

So, he has enough time. He will get his paperwork done and file in the fall for citizenship..

Apparently DMs were discovered over last weekend. I believe ECAS updates every morning sometime now-ish... (I think 730-8am eastern)

They were also working on hiring case processors for rotating shifts (3 shifts per day, 7 days a week)

I know they are working weekends, got a call on Saturday last week to make sure our address was correct (we had moved since applying and I sent in the corrected address)
