I checked my application update via the online tool last week and saw they had sent communication to us (didn't know if it was me directly or my rep. Turned out to be my rep but says he didn't get it). So I investgated further, called the CIC hotline and managed to speak to someone thru Citizenship who patched me into Permanent Residency. They said that an email was sent to my attorney asking for proof of relationship and requested specific examples of cohabitation—anything that demonstrated we live together in the same dwelling. Examples they gave of what we could send were:
Sworn affadavits of people attesting to our relationship
evidence of joint bank/residential or purchase agreement or insurance to establish genuine relationship and home address
have you traveled many countries browning? I was just talking to someone else who is also waiting solely on security screening. Commonality being that we've both traveled a lot in the past...
Having the two DL's both showing the same address is pretty strong proof. Just add any mail or what have you (banking profile pages if you use online banking and they show the same civic address). That's pretty standard. Just prove you both stay at that house.
I am confused by your avatar flag.... I am trying to figure it out... The forum (before upgrade) would tell me the name, just by me looking at the page source code.... now they hide it
It looked american ... but I think the weirdo curvy crap on it made it tougher to tell -- that and the star are way over-scaled compared to the stripes....
Anyway, good enough... thanks for clearing that up!
Got my GCMS this morning and I would like some clarifications.
App Status Reason: In progress-SPR. What does SPR mean? And they wrote a comment at the bottom saying: Application identified for streamlined eligibility processing.
Sponsorship Eligibility: Not started, however, when I called the call centre couple of days ago, she told me that my sponsor has been approved. Does that mean it has not been updated on my file? Similarly, my wife has not received any correspondence regarding sponsor approval from IRCC as well. Do some people get sponsors approval notification while others don't?
Notes are 30 days old when you get them. SPR == Sponsorship. You might want to validate your address/email address(es) with CIC to make sure they have the right ones.
I just got off too Kate. At least you know what to send to them now. BTW, you live in one of my favourite places even though I was only there for 2 days.
I feel incredibly blessed to live here! I met my now-husband after going through a rough divorce. He took me up here on vacation (we met in Boston), and I fell in love with this place. We live on an island attached to the mainland by bridge. This time of year the birds, sky and sea are incredible. Since I got bored and restless waiting for PR to come through I've taken up astronomy as a hobby. The night skies here are super dark. You can see the milky way with the naked eye.

I tried to convince my wife that we need a private island (much of Canada has them available to buy). Unfortunately, being from Moscow (yes, Russia, not Idaho), even the (smaller) city we live in feels remote and too much like a village to her. Her favourite place on Earth is the financial district in Toronto. "This makes Moscow look like an 18th century village!"
Cape Breton (Inverness) is where we spent most of our time when we drove through. We also did Halifax/Peggy's Cove/Sydney, etc...
