Can we surrender Indian passport and apply for OCI at the same time. If anyone has done it, please can you share your experience and the timeline for the entire process.

No..first surrender.....once done...then only OCI.

Surrender and entry visa can be applied together.

OCI processed on 17th June but still no update on BLS Toronto about "Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping".
All I see is my previous status "Original documents Dispatched via courier" . How long does OCI takes to get delivered to BLS from Consulate ?

mine got updated today....so you can expect tomorrow.....hopefully

Hello All. I'm starting the process to apply for OCI card for my daughter. Just waiting for Canadian passport to be issued. Per Toronto Consular General of India instructions (https://www.cgitoronto.gov.in/page/fresh-oci-application/), they are asking to apply for fresh OCI here (https://ociservices.gov.in/) whereas in this thread, this link (https://www.blsindia-canada.com/toronto-jurisdiction/ocihome.php) is thrown around to apply for OCI. Can you all please let me know which is correct ? Thank you in advance.

For checklist use both BLS and mentioned in CGI Toronto site....but you will still need to attach allllllll the docs of self and wife.

Try to fill all the fields and check sample form on BLS site for OCI for reference.

Yeah sure, I sent in the application to BLS on 22nd Apr and it was received by HCI on 26th May. Thats it, no movement after that.

Similar to mine. I sent mine by Purolator on April 12th. Received my original documents about 50 days later and see an acknowledgement date of May 25th on the OCI portal. I sent a couple of emails to the HCI, but I have little hope that it will do much. The patience is wearing thin.

Yeah I think I should've just gone in person to BLS. Guessing that would've shortened it. Cant do much now, just sitting tight.

Yes I did, I dont remember the dates now but I'm guessing 3-4 weeks after my submission.
