I was hoping to visit my family in July, but it does not look like it will happen. I can apply for the entry visa, but after waiting this long for OCI, I much rather wait a bit longer and travel later this year.

i applied for OCI this week, do you think i can book tickers for Aug 1st or 2nd week ?
tickets that are refundable or modifiable are expensive non refundable are really cheap.. is it risky booking for Aug tavel to India now ?

I got a call from BLS Brampton from a private number. I did mail in for both surrender and entry visa apps. I wrote N/A for certain fields irrelevant to me on the apps. They said I should not hand write anything. I had to reprint, sign, scan and email them. Entry visa is being processed by another staff. I might get another call or email.

I waited almost 2 months for Surrender Cert... Now, 2 months for OCI...
where as my friend, who took oath the same day as me in Alberta, got all these done together and visited India on vacation and came back. Here I am still waiting to get each of the things lined up
I called BLS before I submitted my application to ask this question about the Originals being asked in the checklist. His words - "Oh yeah, ignore that checklist. It is pretty old, we need to update it. You don't need to send any originals.". He also told me that that's the reason they don't charge extra $30 nowadays, which they used to charge to return the originals.
Lolll oh man this is so confusing.. they did charge me $30 for returning originals.. When i selected postal service for OCI, total fee was 80 (20 for pickup and 2x30 for drop off of original plus drop off of OCI card)... what is happening lollll

You must have paid the Courier charges online. BLS guy told me that just like the checklist, the 'courier' section of the website also needs to be updated.
He told me to buy the courier service (pickup & drop) from him directly on phone. After getting my details, he sent me a link on my email to make the payment, in which $30 for returning original documents was NOT there. Whereas when I tried to purchase this service myself on their site, just like you said, they were charging 30 bucks for orig docs. BLS ki jai!
OCI processed on 17th June but still no update on BLS Toronto about "Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping".
All I see is my previous status "Original documents Dispatched via courier" . How long does OCI takes to get delivered to BLS from Consulate ?
