After 216 days of waiting, I just received a refusal letter for my work permit application for the following reason.
"After considering all the circumstances of your case, your application for a work permit cannot
be approved as requested as per section R203 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection
Regulations. You do not possess a valid Labour Market Impact Assessment and Confirmation
from Employment and Social Development Canada. Your prospective employer is responsible
for obtaining this confirmation."
I contacted the IRCC regarding the details of how my LMIA was invalidated. They did not disclose specific information but mentioned that my LMIA documents are not consistent with my work permit application profile. Upon review, I found a discrepancy regarding the branch area I would be assigned to, can someone enlighthen me about this? (My employer confirmed to the ESDC that my LMIA is still valid until July 2025)

Unfortunate to hear about this. Did you not submitted your positive LMIA to IRCC for processing work permit application? Which NOC or job you applied for LMIA?
Yep that's what we expected, but anyway, we need to respect how their system works, I will make urgent appeal with my lawyer. Just make a call to the IRCC hotline and be patient to their agent to attend your call, they are very helpful within their capacity.

My prior extension took around. 7-8 months. And the recent one took almost 11 months. Please do call IRCC once it crosses 7-8 months. I did made the call last month to remind them that it has been more than 10 months for me, they did acknowledged it is strangely late but cannot escalate until 90 days. Thankfully, agent did added some remarks about delay in my application and I received my WP within 2 weeks from my last call.

Same is happening with me its almost 200 days and today , I just got my biometric correspondence letter. Do you have idea once your bvl correspondence letter updated in gc key profile ,after almost 7 months in case of sowp extension, how much more time they take for final work permit approval.

I got my SOWP extension inside Canada along with visitor record for my daughter approved after almost 210 days.
My timelines:
22 March Application filed.
29 March 2024 Temporary a extension letter received.
1 Webform raised.
1 MP enquire.
Called IRCC after 180 days decision making timelines breached by IRCC on 8th Oct 2024.
11 October 2024 Biomedical Correspondence Letter Updated.
15 Oct 2024 Status Changed to Approve.
I need information about traveling outside of Canada. Below are the timelines for my Work Permit (WP), Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), and WP extension application dates:
Work Permit expiry date: January 30, 2025.
Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) expiry date: October 20, 2024.
WP extension applied date: September 5, 2024.
I have a valid Visitor Visa that expires in 2029.
I am planning to travel to my home country in December and return by the end of December 2024, using my Visitor Visa. Upon re-entry, I plan to enter Canada with my Work Permit. Can I travel?
