No. I think FP request is random and does not happen to every applicant.

Thank you. I presume Winnipeg CIC has few test dates in May and they have started calling candidates whose background check is over or almost over. I called CIC yesterday and the agent told me that our background checks are over and we are in the test queue. He also advised me to start preparing for the test. And my ECAS updated with test invite today early morning.

Had my test today (20/20). Interveiw was straight forward-no odd questions. Read the book it least once and practice online sample tests. I found the following site very helpful.
