My understanding is that starting to build credit history as soon as you land is recommended. I wan wondering if anyone has first hand experience with the best and/or the quickest bank to open a bank account with and get a credit card?

Most banks have new immigrants programs which range from free banking for 6- 12 months OR free cash back etc . Most of the big banks also offer free credit cards typically with a lower credit limit 1k to 2k . You can walk to any branch Scotia RBC BMO CIBC TD etc and talk to them. Better check online for the new commer promotions before deciding on the bank .
