What does "this does not authorize re-entry" mean?

Hi there, I have a question..
So I came to Canada from Russia two and a half years ago as a student. Then I got married here and I applied for a Permanent Resident Status, when my visa was expired I applied for a new visa. in four month I got my visitor record for year and a half. then, that visa expired and I applied for a new one. Both visas have "this does not authorize re-entry" sign and both of them I got in Canada (not outside of the country).
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

It means if you exit Canada, you aren't guaranteed re-entry. Re-entry is possible if you satisfy the IO you'll meet the conditions of your visa.
