So i was getting worried my wife never received her AOR letter in costa rica, so on feb 28 i sent the guatemala office an e-mail, and they finally responded today, March 11. here is what they said:

Thank you for your electronic message.

Our system shows that correspondence was sent to the Embassy of Canada in Costa Rica on February 11, 2011. Please pick up the envelope in that office as soon as possible.

Sincerely yours,

that is weird, why would my wife have to pick it up from there? I thought they sent these letters directly to my wife??? hmmm in confused...

Gary

I don't know what the mail service is like in Costa Rica, but I'm guessing whatever the correspondence is, it may be safer going from the Guatemalan embassy where the processing is being done to the Costa Rica embassy for her to collect it there. Is she in a position to be able to go there to collect it? It might be best for her to do this rather than relying on the mail service.

Hello garytheoiler,

this sort of happened to me today but they called me because they couldn't get a hold of my husband in Costa Rica. He's going Monday to San Jose to pick something up. Do you think it's the request for his passport? Was hers really requested yesterday?! That is super exciting!
