Waiting for Passport - Please add your case here

My tracking number got activated yesterday (July 31st, at 6:04 pm).

Should receive the passports today. Finally, after about 53 days of waiting.

did they give any reasons for the delay?

Hi curiosity_mars,

the best thing to get your friend to bring those here with an notarized authorization letter and I'm pretty sure that is not risky at all...I did the same and worked good for me!!

Thanks a lot tarun... i understand that this policy works for India but for Pakistan that is not the case.... I called CIC today and they told me that my wife's stamping request should be from the embassy in pakistan but when i her the principal applicant in CEC situation.. she got confused too... and she advised me to contact ottawa directly.. ive sent them an email asking information on this matter... lets c what happens.. im really surprised that even after giving them all the correct residence information of my spouse they still dont realize that this could be a problem when it comes to passport request...

No reason whatsoever.

My tracking number got activate two days after sending them an email requaesting for an update on the status of the application.

It seems that, after receiving the passports, sometimes the VO still have to do some work in one's case (this is what the call center agent told me).

My case is not the only one that took that long (around 50 days). And now with this ongoing strike...

passing 9th days since CIC received my passport...

Passports received in July 15. Still waiting. I think, I shouldn't send any email yet and have to wait.

Moreover, Work permit is expired as well as visa. However, Ottawa doesn't care about it.
