A single entry visa allows you to come to Canada only one time. Once you have left Canada, excluding travel to the United States and St. Pierre and Miquelon, you will need a new visa to travel back to and enter Canada.
If your visa is still valid and you are travelling only and directly to the United States (including its Territories and Possessions) or St. Pierre and Miquelon, you do not need a new visitor visa to return to Canada.
This refers to a visitor VISA, known as a TRV; this is what allows non visa-exempt people to board a commercial carrier to Canada. This has nothing to do with visitor STATUS, which is granted by CBSA upon entry.
Visitor status ends when a person leaves Canada. The person is assessed as a new visitor upon re-entry to Canada, regardless of where they have been.
Hi All,
I am planning to apply for visitor visa to Canada from India. I am gonna marry a PR and we are planning to apply for visa before marriage. We are stating our purpose of visit as to spend our honeymoon for a month. I have my employment here in India and have US travel history as well. Is it advisable to apply before marriage? I can show documents for my financial stability, IT returns etc. Is it required to show some documents depicting our relationship for visitor visa like engagement photos/ marriage invitation card etc? Please let us know your thoughts.
