Hello everyone! I have a question. I am planning to apply for a visitor visa to Canada in order to visit my mother's grave.
Here's some background information: In 2012, I applied for immigration to Canada alongside my mother as a dependent child. Unfortunately, my application was rejected while my mother's was approved, so I was unable to accompany her. After residing in Canada for three and a half years, my mother fell seriously ill and was given a limited time to live by the doctors. Regrettably, I couldn't be with her during her final moments due to being pregnant and advised against traveling. She passed away in 2021, and now I have a strong desire to visit her grave, if only once, for my own inner peace.
My concern is whether my previous immigration attempt to Canada will have any impact on the decision regarding my visitor visa application if I decide to proceed with it.

Well as for Canada TRV is concerned, you will have to declare your previous refusal
As long as you can justify the purpose of visit adequately, show home ties to your current country of residence and explain why you would leave Canada after the visit and demonstrate financial abilities it is worth a shot in my honest opinion
The outcome would not be known until you apply and see
You could ask for a 1 week visa to come visit her grave
Do you have anyone else in your family living in Canada ? If yes on what status? These could have some impacts too
Good Luck & happy to help with any other questions
Appreciation for the prompt response and your kind support. The guidance provided has been truly valuable and illuminated a path for me. I was wondering if you could shed some light on how my relationship with my brother, who is a permanent citizen in Canada, might impact the visa application process. Any insights you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
