Hey everybody!
Ok, so i am Canadian and my wife is from Vienna. We got married last year and we are just about ready to send in our permanent resident application for her. I am sponsoring her and we are applying for her living in Vienna, rather than Canada.
Is this the right thread to join?
My understanding is that I will be evaluated as a sponsor here in Canada, then the application goes to Vienna, where she will be evaluated as a PR applicant. Am i on the right track? Still lots to figure out regarding the timeline and whole process.

Yes you are on the right thread and of course on the correct track!
There lots of nice people here who would be more than helpful to your queries when ever they arise.
Make sure you apply outland so you must be careful as to which apps you are sending.
Timeline and the whole process will come naturally after spending some time reading and asking questions here!
Good luck to you both!

My COPR came today!!! It was issued on the 14th, sent on the 16th, and ecas changed on the 18th! Will be landing next week, just have to wait for hubby's next day off.
We are also still waiting. We applied in August 2012. I hope my approval will come in around March or so. My mom will be celebrating her 60th birthday in March, and I want to be here in the Netherlands with her for that. But I hope that I can move to my boyfriend in Montreal after that.

Wonder what you mean with "you're applying for her living in Vienna". So you're doing the PR application just for her to have the option of moving to Canada later on? Or do you mean to say that she'll be living in Vienna until the PR application is processed?
If it's the first, keep in mind the following info from http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/about-pr.asp#keep_status :
Keeping your permanent resident status
Your permanent resident status allows you to live in Canada, but there is also a time limit on how long you can live outside the country. To keep your status as a permanent resident, you must live in Canada for at least two years within a five-year period.
Good luck Sponsor , my husband is going to redo his medical on Wednesday , and i hope once the medical is done, to hear some good news from the Vienna , and not to Wait a lot , does anybody knows how long will take to wait once the medical is done .
I have applied on December 3rd, 2012. I recieved update on January 3rd. 2013. Since Jan 2013 I had access to "Online Check Application Status" through UCI. It used to have 2 updates:
Application for Sponsorship - Approved
Application for PR - Recieved
Today I tried to check the application status using my name and UCI but the system displays that it cant find me. I was wondering why I cant access my file anymore. Does anybody else have such experience?
