Yay! After many years, I am almost done with my struggle to get my citizenship LOL

Arrived here in August 2010 on a caregiver visa.. Sept 2011, I lost my status and restored it in January 2012
Became PR in August 2014.. It was delayed for 3 months because I was waiting for my police clearance from the 2 countries where I worked for a few years..

My citizenship timeline is:
March 26 2018 - Passed my application
March 29 2018 - AOR
May 17 2018 - In Process
July 2018 - I received a letter that there will be a delay on my application
April 16, 2019 - I went to our MP (Member of Parliament) and asked assistance why my application was delayed. I assumed that it was my last name. I have been using 4 different names coz the country where I came from have different rules in using the last name.. Then I got married when I was a PR and been using my husband's last name and my middle name (became too complicated) that I couldn't fix it without going to the lawyer

Seems like going to MP about my application really helped.

May 3, 2019 - CIC mailed me a letter asking me about the right name to be used. Or submit a change of name from the province. Or they can just process using my PR name (which was wrong in the first place because of my country and Canada's rules). I went with using the PR name and thought of just fixing it after citizenship is approved

June 14, 2019 - I received an email for my test
July 10, 2019 - I took the test in Surrey.. Got 20/20 (super easy) - Guess what, during the interview, I was told that the explanation I submitted about my name when I first submitted my application in March 2018 was actually accepted and my name has been changed since then.

July 11, 2019 - Decision made

Today, August 8, I received the schedule of my oath

SEPTEMBER 5, 2019 - OATH TAKING IN VANCOUVER

OH MY GOD! I THINK I AM GOING TO BE BAWLING IN TEARS! THIS HAS BEEN A LONG WAIT FOR ME.. AFTER 9 YEARS, AND 20 DAYS, I AM GOING TO BE A CANADIAN CITIZENNNNN!!!

(Sorry for the long story!) I am just sooo happy!!!

To everyone who are still waiting, you're next..

I think we took the test in the same place. Please let me know here if you get a call for the oath.
Thanks

That looks like a normal timeline to me. It is 12 months from the time you submit your application to the time you take the Oath.. They send test invites 2 weeks before the date.. Then after the test, they'll tell you 2-3 months wait for the oath ceremony. I think, you're still good..

As far as I remember, I was only advised to call when my application was over the processing time which is 12 months. If you don't get a test invite on November, then you can call them

Guys guys guys!!
Final stage is here.
I just got Citizenship Oath invitation to be held on Sep 17, 2019.

Finally me and my husband both got the email for the Oath ceremony on 23rd sept. So happy!
