Can I submit my PR Renewal (almost 8 months remaining) and Travel after submitting my application? It seems that I have to travel urgently and will be required to stay at home country for few months (2 months) and come back. Is it okay if I submit my PR Renewal Application and Travel, and make sure to come back before my current PR Expires (when 6 months are left)?
Is it safer to travel while application is submitted for PR Renewal?
your PR status does not expire. what you are applying for is to renew your PR card. Your freedom to travel will depend on whether you have an expired pr card or not. if you leave before you get your renewed card, then you will need to apply for a PR travel document to return to canada, if you are a us citizen, then you can travel to canada on the strength of your us passport. if you easily meet the residency requirements, there are no restrictions on traveling when you submit an application to renew your card.
You mean to say, I can submit my renewal application and before leaving country. I do have existing non expired PR card with maintained PR status and returning within 2-3 weeks (8 months ahead of expiry)? Travel situation was unexpected for me that why.
since my travel plans wasn't sure,I did filled my renewal application and I have already paid my PR fees though, will that be still valid fees?
the fees are valid until they process it. if you have a non-expired card, and you plan to travel, then i don't see any issue here. i'm not understanding why it would be an issue to submit your application before leaving? i'm unaware of any requirement where the person has to be in canada when the form is being processed. your travel plans are irrelevant to submitting an application to renew your pr card.
