Anybody know if this is accurate, I sent my passport along with a fedex return label (prepaid). Going to Vancouver. I did not send a xpress post return envelope due to the ongoing strike? On the IRCC website they mention you can send a prepaid envelope with a courier of choice.

Is there any chance my passport will be sent by fedex? If not how long does it take for the mail to arrive to Vancouver given the strike situation?

Hey fam!
I am posting a final timeline for people who are still in doubt about the passport/visa processing time. Hopefully it clear your doubts.

16 sep- I filled in wrong application for TRV, IMM 5707. (DO NOT FILL THIS FORM)

17 sep- I received an email saying my application has been submitted.

12 oct- I dont see any update so I researched an little about the correct form I was supposed to fill. All THANKS to the wonderful people on this thread who told me I submitted the wrong application

13 oct- I withdrew IMM 5707 and submitted IMM 5257

14 oct- My application was sucessfull.

16 oct- My visa got approved.

17 oct- I sent my passport from Toronto to Ottawa in express post. It literally took 1 business day to reach.

18 oct- Tracking showed my passport reached office and was collected.

26 oct- Return tracking was activated

29 oct- Passport reached my house in Toronto

I hope all of you get your visas as soon as possible. I know it is a very frustrating time but all you can do is be positive. If you think that you have filled in a wrong application, I suggest filling in a new one as soon ad possible.

Hello! Same situation happened with me foooor long time without realizing. Did you do the process online? And even if the system asked about sumitting the IMM 5707 you were able to upload the IMM 5257?

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to give you an update. I by mistake filled in the wrong form so I withdrew that application on last Thursday.
I filled in new application for TRV inside canada on Friday (12 oct 2018) and today I received an email that my application has been approved. I am going to send my passport tomorrow and wait for it to come back.
I shall provide you with more update as my file progresses.

hi folks,
I need to renew TRV for my 10-year old daughter who got her Visitor Record/Temporary Resident Permit valid till 29 Jan 2019. I am in Post Graduate Open Work Permit, waiting for PR.

After answering questions in my CIC account, it kept generating application to extend stay (IMM 5708); I know we need IMM 5257 for TRV.

Anyone can tell if I made mistake somewhere or online TRV from INSIDE canada is no longer an option.

Your instruction/sharing are greatly appreciated.

I am on the same boat. I applied on 16th September, it says that they are processing requests from 17th september.
Avg processing time is 5 days.
I dont know what to do. Customer care never picks up, it is literally the worst customer service i have ever seen in my life.
Do you think i ahould wait or withdraw? I have booked my tickets for 9 nov

I applied on Sep 10 and my eligibility start a week later. Since then, no response from CIC, no passport request. Have your eligibility started yet?

App submitted Sep 10th. Eligibility started a week later. Passport request Oct 15th. Good luck everyone.
