I came to US on j1 visa & have a J1 visa stamp that's expired , switched to H1b (with an approved I797). Since they are 2 different visa categories can I still travel to Mexico & Canada ? Can you all please let me know your experiences with ARV?

I travelled once on expired H1B with valid I797 and it was really smooth
