Hello,

I recently got my COPR and I must land in Canada by 1st May 2020. I am currently in US on H1B status. I do not have a H1B visa stamp on my passport as I recently changed my status from F1 visa. My F1 visa is valid until June 2020. However, as I changed my status, I don’t think F1 expiry date matters anymore.

My passport is due to expire in October 2021. My i94 validity on my i797 approval notice is till December 2022. I was planning to use Automatic Visa Revalidation (AVR) to go to Canada and come back to US.

My question is when I try to reenter US will I be given a new i94 with new expiry date of October 2021(same as my passport expiry)? Has anyone gone through AVR process and got a new i-94 with new expiry date?

Thanks in advance.
